CSRL Uganda Early Childhood Development
The ISU-Uganda Program (ISU-UP), administered by the Center for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods (CSRL) in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences invites you to make a difference in the future of pre-school age children by investing in their growth and development.
Early Childhood Education is critical in the formative years of children for developing intellectual, social, and emotional skills. In Kamuli district of Uganda, early childhood education is provided through pre-schools that are linked to primary schools. Funding for early childhood in rural public schools is limited and is provided by resource-limited parents resulting in inadequate facilities, materials and supplies, and staff, which is not conducive to growth and learning for this age group.
Currently, the CSRL program provides a mid-morning meal for children and improves some school infrastructure through classroom, kitchen, and latrine construction. With your help, the program can provide age-appropriate learning materials, improve nutrition through adequate meals throughout the day, increase the number of teachers’ aides/assistants, and continue improving infrastructure at schools in the district.
Every contribution makes a difference! Be part of the first $12,500 contributed and your donation will be doubled!
Whichever level you choose; your gift will help:
- Improve nutrition of young children by providing a mid-morning snack
