Human Sciences Week 2018

Human Sciences Week 2018 takes place on October 8th-12th! This is a week of activities that celebrates the College through a variety of academic, social, and philanthropic events catering to more than 5,000 students, faculty, and staff. This event brings in roughly 300-500 attendees per large event and 25-200 attendees per smaller scale events. Fliers will be handed out campus wide that consists of 30,000+ undergraduate students.

Our goals this year are:

-Quality over quantity events

-Inclusivity of the greater ISU and Ames communities 

-Spread the goodwill of the College of Human Sciences 

LARGE EVENTS:

"Game of Life" This fun event will allow students to learn about the FSHN department of Human Sciences. Located in central campus, students will go through the stages of life while working towards fun prizes.

Healthiest State Walk The Healthiest State Walk will highlight the Kinesiology department of the college. This event will also allow students to interact with each other while learning more about the college!

Philanthropy: Pizza & Packing For this year's philanthropy, we will be collecting and packing supplies (pens, notebooks, stickers, books, etc.) for local teachers in need. This event will be located in central campus where students can pack a bag for local teachers and get free pizza to enjoy on their way to their next class!

Club Carnival This is a celebration of all the awesome things the students in the College of Human Sciences participate in! There will be free food, giveaways, inflatables, music, and fun! A club fair will also allow clubs within the college to share information and highlight unique things they have accomplished and continue to do!

Nitrogen Ice Cream ​This is a celebration of the amazing students in the food science department. Students will watch a demonstration of ice cream made with liquid nitrogen and then get an opportunity to taste it and make a sundae.
