Stupka Symposium 2026

Support the Stupka Undergraduate Research Symposium!

Your generous support helps us make a meaningful difference in being able to support our symposium each year for our students, alumni, faculty, and visitors to get together and share their experiences and scientific endeavors. Every donation enables us to bring notable keynote speakers, provide complementary meals for all attendees, and keep this symposium entirely free for years to come.

Why Your Donation Matters

  1. Direct Impact on the Symposium: Your donation allows us to expand the Stupka Symposium each year, allowing for more alumni and student events to take place. It also helps us to fly out and provide hotels for our keynote speakers every year, allowing them to join us at these events and share their experiences and research endeavors without any worries.
  2. Keeping our Symposium Free: Each year we aim to keep the Stupka Symposium free for all who attend, with meals included! By doing this, we hope to take away any costly worries for our attendees, which allows each person to attend for as long as they are able to join us on this special day.
  3. Future Growth of the Symposium: We want each year to be bigger and better! Your support will allow us to continue bringing in keynote speakers each year, as well as allowing for even more, and greater events! Stay tuned as we continue to plan this year’s symposium!

This Year’s Symposium

The 20th annual Stupka Symposium is the largest one yet. We are supporting more speakers, more events, and more research than ever before! Your donation will go a long way to make these operations possible.

Keep watch for our donation page as we send out a few updates along the way!

Without your continued support, we wouldn’t be able to run this event. Thank you for donating to the Stupka Symposium and we hope to see you April 9 and 10 in the Molecular Biology Building and great ISU Campus for this fantastic Symposium!

FAQ

What is FundISU? FundISU is a crowdfunding tool that enables alumni, parents and friends to help students and faculty fund their passion projects and make a difference at Iowa State University.

Is my donation tax deductible? Yes. You will receive a receipt for your donation from the ISU Foundation. If you select a contribution level that has a thank-you gift, the cash value of the gift will be deducted from the total amount of the contribution.

When will my credit card be charged and is the site secure? Your credit card will be charged immediately. This site uses industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) servers on our transaction pages. It encrypts all of your personal information including name, address, and credit card number to prevent unauthorized access as the information travels over the Internet.

Where is my donation going? Your donation will be processed by the ISU Foundation and sent directly to the project, minus a processing fee (never exceeding 5%) assessed to recover the cost of hosting the FundISU site.

What if a project doesn’t meet its funding goal? If the campaign falls short of its funding goal, the funds raised will still be released to the project sponsor. In the event that a project cannot be undertaken because of the shortfall, the money raised will be retained by the sponsoring college or unit for use on a project with similar goals.

What happens if a project is overfunded? If a campaign raises more than its stated funding goal, the ISU Foundation will work with the project sponsor to determine whether the surplus should be used to expand or enhance the project, or reserved for use by similar projects in the future.

Who can I contact with additional questions? Call Kristin Erdman at the ISU Foundation at 515-297-8616 or email fundisu@foundation.iastate.edu.
