Cantamus' 20th Anniversary Bulgaria Tour
Cantamus, the nationally recognized women’s choir at Iowa State University, is eager to announce we will be traveling, by invitation, to Bulgaria in May for our very first international tour! We are excite to celebrate our 20th anniversary by immersing ourselves into Bulgaria’s rich heritage, learn about the culture, and perform in established concert venues. Our performances will take place in the cities of Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna, ending with a special evening solo performance at the Varna International Choral Festival.
Will you help support this exciting, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity?
This tour costs $2500 per person and includes travel, hotel, breakfasts and a few group dinners. Each singer is responsible for coming up with this cost in addition to spending money for the remaining meals, bus transportation and gratuities for porterage and tour guides. Our fundraising goal is set at $5,000. However, we are aiming to raise as much as possible so that we can reduce the price each woman will pay out of pocket. Most of our members are full-time students and many are also working one or two part-time jobs to pay for their own education.
Your support allows our singers an opportunity to experience the adventure of singing together at an international level. We ask that you consider making a tax-free donation via this page, cash, or check made out to Cantamus.

We thank you in advance from the bottom of our vocal registers!
Please feel free to take a look at just few of our previous achievements.
Governor Kim Reynold’s Inauguration
In January, Cantamus was invited to sing at the inauguration of Iowa’s first female governor. We traveled to Des Moines and performed for more than 1,500 people, including the Supreme Court and the entire General Assembly, as well as countless Iowa Public Television viewers.

Cantamus was invited to give a solo performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2018. We had an absolutely amazing time!
National ACDA Conventions 2013 and 2017
Cantamus was invited to perform at the 2013 National American Choral Directors Association Convention in Dallas, Texas. In March of 2017 we performed again at the National ACDA Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In total, we received four jump-up standing ovations. This marked the first time a collegiate women’s choir was invited to perform at two consecutive national conventions, an unprecedented accomplishment that remains unmatched.
