The Outreach Producers are responsible for creating a merchandise assortment for The Fashion Show. Typically, merchandise is sold on campus through the spring semester and at the show. However, this year we have had to innovate!
We will be hosting online merch sales until May 6th, 2020. Browse our products and place your order with the following google form. If any questions arise, please reach out to us at fs.producers@iastate.edu. Stay home but stay repping TFS 2020.
Below are the form link and a photo of our apparel products! We also have a canvas tote bag, laptop stickers, and enamel pins.
To all of The Fashion Show 2020’s Generous Donors,
As you are surely aware, COVID-19 is forcing all of us to change our plans in the coming weeks, and The Fashion Show is no different. Everyone in the organization is working together to navigate the current situation and develop new ways to showcase the amazing work of the students in the Apparel, Merchandising, and Design (AMD) program.
In light of current recommendations and to ensure the health and safety of The Fashion Show participants and attendees, we will no longer be able to hold a runway show on April 18 and are exploring options to host The Fashion Show 2020 in a different format this coming fall semester. We are also moving ahead with a digital format for the judging process. It is important to everyone in The Fashion Show that every dollar allocated for student scholarships is in the hands of students by the end of the spring semester.
All merchandise based incentives from this year’s campaign will be mailed out to donors in the coming weeks, including laptop stickers, t-shirts, and coffee mugs. The experience based incentives will all be rolled over into The Fashion Show 2021. If you qualified for the pre-sale, the backstage tour, or the VIP parking, your name will automatically be on the lists for all three of those incentives next spring.
We appreciate your understanding and support of all of the students involved with The Fashion Show this spring. Your donations do so much already to support experiential learning for Iowa State students – both through all of the events completed this spring semester, and for all of the events we are working on in the future. Please keep an eye on all of our social media pages to see how we are taking The Fashion Show off of the runway and into your living rooms!

Our Philanthropy directors (Carly Haaning, Emily DeDonker, and Nicole Ernst) have been working to secure and plan our three philanthropy events for The Fashion Show 2020. We are happy to continue our past relationships with Days for Girls and Dress for Success, and are excited to start a new relationship with Hughats.
This year The Fashion Show is excited to be partnering with Hughats for the first time ever! Hughats is a non-profit organization recently created by Kris Abel-Helwig, a breast cancer survivor, who had the dream of making hats to comfort those going through chemotherapy treatments. Kris not only wants to help chemotherapy patients, but she also wants to spread joy to Alzheimer’s & dementia patients, in loving memory of her late mother. Volunteers for Hughats create hats, or 'hugs,' for children and adults in need of some warming up. Our team is hoping to send over 100 hats to children cancer patients, nursing home patients, and those in hospice care. Join us on February 22nd from 10am-1pm in the Sun Room at Iowa State’s Memorial Union to make some Hughats!
We are proud to be partnering with Dress for Success Des Moines for the fourth year. Dress for Success is a non-profit organization that provides programs to help local women acquire jobs, retain their positions, and succeed in the mainstream workplace. Their mission is “to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.” The Philanthropy committee will be collaborating with several other Fashion Show events to collect clothes and accessories throughout the spring semester! If you have any items you would like to donate or have questions about the program, please contact fs.philanthropy@iastate.edu.
Along with Dress for Success, they are continuing our partnership with Days for Girls. Days for Girls increases access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating social enterprises, mobilizing volunteers, and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigmas and limitations for women and girls. Together, we're creating a world with dignity, health, and opportunity for all. We are hosting a Sew Day on March 7th from 10am-3pm in Lebaron Hall (Room 2088 + Sewing Lab) to make reusable menstruation kits that will be sent to girls in developing countries.

Hi FundISU Donors,
We are so excited to announce we have already reached our goal of $25,000!
We wanted to let you know we are still accepting donations until FundISU closes in 8 days. Today in class, we challenged our organization members to continue their fundraising efforts in hopes to reach our new (unofficial) goal of $30,000.
Thank you for all your support! The Fashion Show truly would not be possible without all our amazing donors.

Hello FundISU Donors! We are 16 days out from the end of our campaign and have set a goal to raise $2,400 in the next 24 hours starting at 7pm today until 7pm tomorrow! Support from donors like you is the reason we are able to produce a fashion show on the scale that we have here at Iowa State. FundISU donations account for one-third of our production costs! With that being said the $2,400 we are working to raise today could pay for 1,127 Show Programs, hair and makeup for our 50+ models, and transportation to bring our Guest Designers and Judges to campus.
There are many more aspects of our show that the FundISU campaign supports and makes possible. We are so grateful for our donors like you! Thanks for your continuous support of our program. We can’t wait to see how much we can fundraise in the next 24 hours!
We are so excited to see the momentum our crowdfunding campaign has gained in only one short week. From all of us at The Fashion Show, we would like to extend a huge "Thank You!" to all of our donors so far! This week we’re sharing our progress on our TFS 2020 theme and our fundraising progress.
We are so excited to present the theme for the 2020 show: Modern Awakening. Created through student collaboration this theme encompasses the beauty and wonder from the past to the present. Modern Awakening honors The Fashion Show’s history while aligning the values of our beginning with that of the show today. The Fashion Show 2020: Modern Awakening aims to represent our numerous student designers and their collections in a way that values every design that crosses the stage. Multiple Director teams collaborated to take Modern Awakening from an initial mood board into a specific vision for our theme that will be represented in all TFS materials. From marketing materials to visual merchandising displays to set creation, Modern Awakening is represented throughout it all. Thanks to our Art Director (Lauren Hansen), alongside our Gallery and Display Directors (Rachel Lininger and Emily Schrimpf) and our Set Directors (Anna Zimmerman, Cameron Wahlberg and Madelyn Uhl) for helping establish a clear vision for The Fashion Show 2020: Modern Awakening.
Now for some fundraising news! This week over 60 Fashion Show Directors and committee members worked the concessions at the Iowa State Men’s basketball game against Baylor. In doing so, The Fashion Show receives a portion of the sales made. This contributes to a significant amount of our organizations fundraising efforts and we are so grateful for the hard work our Fundraising Directors (Cara Tschida and Sarah Solnet) put in to make this event happen!
For FundISU, we have surpassed over 50% of our fundraising goal in a little over one week! We are completely blown away and so excited for how this support will allow The Fashion Show to continue to grow as a student organization and an event. We are looking forward to seeing where the following 22 days of our FundISU campaign take us!
Hello FundISU Donors! Happy New Year! As we enter the new year, we look back on 2019 and are so thankful for your continuous support of The Fashion Show. Last year we surpassed our fundraising goal, raising a grand total of $26,201! Thank you for your generous donations that make each year the best possible production.
Tonight marks the start of our fundraising campaign for 2020! Our FundISU campaign through the Iowa State Foundation will be live for 30-days, ending on February 21st. We are excited for the challenge of raising $25,000 in this short time frame!
Please follow our social media platforms to take a look at what our student leaders have been developing over the past few months. We appreciate every donation that helps support the continual growth of our organization!
