Our Crowdfunding Groups
20 students from the MIS Club will travel to St. Louis, MO on April 15th to visit the world's largest aerospace company, Boeing! We have been invited to their facilities at the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Our time with Boeing will include a visit to their F-18 fighter jet production line, a tour of their virtual reality development center and Q&A sessions with current employees and Iowa State alumni. We are also hoping to meet the CEO of Boeing, who is an Iowa State alumnus! In addition to visiting Boeing, we will attend a Cardinals baseball game as a social outing to wrap up the trip. Since this trip includes six hours of driving one way we will have to stay overnight in a hotel as well.
Attending students learn about some of the many jobs available in IT, as well as the type of environments they may eventually work in. While the classroom can be a great learning environment, it is not the only place for learning and field trips provide great opportunities for students to see how what they learn in class applies to the business world. Field trips also provide a unique experience for students to connect with one another since they will be spending lots of time together. Networking is the key to success!
For the MIS Club to continue to grow in size and effectiveness, there must be exciting events to encourage student attendance and participation. Field trips are our largest and most exciting off campus events of the year, and provide a platform for launching the semester. By supporting the MIS Club on this trip, you are helping to support future field trips and other events as well! Go Cyclones!
