Have you heard about the first Big 12 Food Pantry Alliance Competition?
S.H.O.P., Iowa State University’s on-campus food pantry, is in the middle of a fierce but friendly competition with the University of Cincinnati food pantry in advance of the football game on October 14. The competition is on to see who can get the most food donations (in pounds), Instagram followers, and monetary gifts!
Food insecurity continues to be an urgent issue. Among all campuses in the Big 12, an average of 30 percent of students are food insecure. On our campus, 31 percent of Iowa State students identify as being food insecure. S.H.O.P. has about 1,000 visits and gives out 12,000 pounds of food per month.
Fortunately, you can help make a difference today! Help S.H.O.P. win this competition and feed the Iowa State community at the same time. You can follow us on Instagram and visit our website to learn how to donate food, but the way to make the biggest difference is with a monetary gift to our FundISU project.
Let’s go, Cyclones, and beat the Bearcats!
