The Women’s Rugby Club is comprised of competitive, dedicated, and tough girls from diverse backgrounds and majors. The girls devote immense time and energy to the team and practice four times per week in order to improve their rugby skills and overall fitness. On the weekends, Saturdays are spent competing against other teams in the Midwest, such as the University of Iowa and the University of Minnesota. During the spring of 2019, all the hard work paid off, and for the first time, the Women's Rugby Club advanced to compete nationally - finishing 8th at USA Rugby’s College 7’s D1 National Championship! That passion and hard work have continued as the team has been invited to compete in the 2021 Collegiate Rugby Championship in New Orleans, Lousiana.
We aim to build upon our successes of previous seasons and are looking for financial support in order to travel to New Orleans this May to compete in our second Division 1 National Championship. We have all-volunteer coaching and operate on a tight budget that is required to cover team expenses including gas, equipment, and pay for referees. Our biggest priority right now is to fundraise for the 2021 Collegiate Rugby Championship in New Orleans, Louisana. Donations will help to cover travel and hotel expenses, and the abundant tournament fees. Donations, no matter how small, make a positive impact on our club. We hope you will consider supporting us with a gift to our FundISU project. We’d also love to see you at the pitch to cheer on your local ruggers in action! Thanks again for considering a donation.
