Hello Stupka Donors,

I would like to start this update off by thanking all of you for your previous support of this symposium. Your support helps us continue and grow this wonderful tradition.

It is time for this year’s edition of our FundISU campaign!

This year’s campaign will be running until April 14th and we hope that you consider donating again and/or sharing with your social networks. We are looking forward to sharing more updates over the course of this project.

Post-Stupka Update #3: Last Chance!! (Campaign closes Friday 4/22 at 5 p.m.)

April 20, 2022

Hello Stupka Supporters,

As you may know, our campaign ends this Friday at 5 p.m. There is still time to donate/share with your social networks to help us get closer to our extended goal of 150% support! Right now we are just $115 away from our stretch goal of $3000.

We want to take a chance to thank everyone for their incredible support of this symposium. This campaign has been extremely successful which speaks volumes to the incredible community that supports this symposium and Rob’s vision. We pledge to use these funds wisely for Stupka 2023 and beyond.

Please enjoy this last batch of photos from this year’s symposium. We look forward to seeing many of you at next year’s 17th annual symposium on March 30, 2023!

Post-Stupka Update #2 (Save the Date, & Announcing 2023 Keynote Speakers!)

April 18, 2022

Hello Stupka Supporters,

Thank you to everyone who has donated or shared our campaign! This level of success is only possible thanks to everyone’s support.

Now is a great chance to mark your calendars for the 17th annual symposium. The 17th annual Stupka Undergraduate Research Symposium will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Our keynote speakers will be Dr. Joseph Jez from Washington University in St. Louis and Dr. Peter J. McKinnon from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. See the graphic below for additional information about next year’s exciting keynote speakers!

Again, thank you to everyone that has donated and shared. The campaign doesn’t close until April 22nd so there is still more time for us to reach our new goal of 150%!

In gratitude,

Stupka ‘22 Planning Committee

Post-Stupka Update #1

April 08, 2022

Yesterday’s symposium was a huge success! It was great bringing the Stupka Symposium back to the Molecular Biology Building and resuming the in-person interaction that makes this day so special.

It's never too early to begin thinking about next year’s event. This campaign doesn’t close until April 22nd so please help us reach 150% funding by sharing with your friends and networks!

For everyone that has donated and shared our campaign with your networks, THANK YOU! Please enjoy these photos from the day of the event. This incredible event is only possible thanks to your help and support!

THANK YOU!!!

April 06, 2022

Today is an exciting day—We just picked up our programs from the printer, the Adrienne Smith Alumni-Student Interaction Dinner is tonight, and our campaign has officially reached its goal!

This amazing level of support would not be possible without your donations and shares. THANK YOU!

We still have 16 days left until our campaign ends, so we’re setting an unofficial second goal of 150% funding. Please share with your social networks to help us reach $3000 to support next year’s symposium.

We greatly appreciate your continued support and can’t wait update everyone after Stupka!

It's Stupka Week, and we're 90% funded!

April 04, 2022

Hello Stupka Supporters,

Thanks to you, we are now over 90% of the way to our goal! We are extremely grateful for each and every one of you. This success is only possible because of your continued support!

It is also finally Stupka Week!! The committee has been working hard the entire semester and can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Stupka either at the Molecular Biology Building or our virtual events.

Last night, to kick off Stupka week, we enjoyed a virtual Alumni-Student Interaction that gave underclassman the chance to get to know department alumni and learn more about what life is like after Iowa State. Here’s a screenshot from before the session started.

Until the next update, keep up the great work sharing with your social networks, and please consider donating to help with the last 10% of our goal. It would feel wonderful to reach 100% by the day of Stupka!

Thank you for your support,

One week until Stupka!

March 31, 2022

Hello Stupka Supporters,

We are almost halfway to our goal! This would not be possible without the continued support from you all. THANK YOU!

On another positive note, we are only seven days away from Stupka! Last night the committee completed the run-through and had our final pre-symposium meeting. We can’t wait to see everyone at the Molecular Biology Building one week from today. There is still time to register to attend in person or virtually before the deadline tomorrow using the link provided in Monday’s update!

As always, please consider donating/sharing with your social networks. Every share is truly appreciated by us and could make a difference.

Thank you,

Stupka ‘22 Planning Committee

Last planning meeting before Stupka 2022!

March 28, 2022

Hello Stupka Supporters,

It’s officially the week of the run-through, which means we are one week closer to Stupka! To get everyone ready for the event we decided that it would be a great time to share details on our speakers. Our two keynote speakers this year are Dr. Elizabeth Haswell from Washington University in Saint Louis and Dr. Jason McLellan from the University of Texas at Austin. Their talks will be held in the main auditorium of the Molecular Biology Building and streamed for virtual attendees. You can read more on the attached flier.
