2024 Guest Judges
EMILY CLARK
Emily Clark received her Bachelor of Science in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design with an emphasis in Creative and Technical Design in 2018 from Iowa State University. While at Iowa State, Emily had two internships, one as a Technical Design Intern at Abercrombie & Fitch, and the other as a Fashion Accessories Design Intern at the Rose Company. She now works as a Technical Designer at Abercrombie & Fitch in Columbus, Ohio, leading girls’ soft dressing and woven tops within Abercrombie Kids. Emily’s experience at Abercrombie & Fitch has also grown her passion for sustainable industry practices by injecting 3D renderings into our daily processes. This technology allows us to make more effective and timely design decisions while decreasing our carbon footprint.
KARINA CORONA
Karina Corona received her Bachelor of Science in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design with an emphasis in Merchandising in 2019 from Iowa State University. While she was at Iowa State, she had an internship with the Iowa State University Book Store as an Assistant Buyer. After graduating from Iowa State, she worked on the Target sales floor and was a receptionist at Gucci. Now, she works in the Coordinator, Customization & Special Projects department for Gucci in New York City. Her department focuses on Made to Measure and Made to Order RTW and tailored collections for both men and women, along with an Atelier/Couture line for women. In her role, she has supported the development, logistics, and execution of private client selling events, placing and tracking orders in the North American and Latin American markets, generating performance reports, and more.
LEA DOCHTERMAN
Lea Doctcherman received her Bachelor of Science in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design with an emphasis in Creative and Technical Design in 2017 from Iowa State University. During her time at Iowa State, Lea interned with Todd Snyder and immediately knew that was where she wanted to end up in her future. Following graduation, she went on to work for Bonobos as a designer for four years before going back to work at Todd Snyder, where she is now the Lead Designer of Sweaters and Accessories. Her favorite part of working in the fashion industry is having the ability to be critically creative; she can dream up beautiful garments - and she knows exactly how to make them come to life. Lea describes designing as a romantic process, and she says it’s extremely satisfying and unique to the fashion industry.
COLLEEN PORKONY
Colleen Pokorny graduated from Iowa State University in 2011, earning her Bachelor of Science in Apparel Merchandising, Design, and Production with a Technical Design emphasis. During the summer before her senior year of college, she was a Technical Design Intern at Lands’ End in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. Following her graduation from Iowa State, Colleen worked as a Technical Designer at Abercrombie & Fitch, then at Thirty-One Gifts. Come 2018, Colleen left the corporate industry and enrolled in graduate school at the University of Minnesota’s College of Design, where she worked toward her masters and Ph.D. In 2023, Colleen officially received her Ph.D. on a Design and Apparel Studies track. Now at Oregon State University’s College of Business, Colleen is an Assistant Professor in Apparel Design. She teaches Computer Aided Design, Apparel Design with Flat Pattern Making, and Apparel Grading, Sizing, and Fit. Her current research focuses on how designers revalue material culture through sustainable design processes when upcycling quilt materials into fashion garments.

Hi donors! We are very excited to release the 2024 Fashion Show merchandise! The Outreach Producers and Art committee has been working hard to create the perfect designs for this year's theme while following current trends.
This week, Digital Media, Modeling, and Photography committees came together to get content of the new merchandise for upcoming sales. 2024 merchandise can be purchased at pop-up events on April 1st and 3rd, at Innovate 1858 in the Student Innovation Center, or at the show on April 20th.

The events of The Fashion Show are underway! Last week, our Special Events team organized a Launch Party event, where we revealed our 2024 guest company!
We are honored to announce that Nordstrom is our guest company for The Fashion Show 2024! Since starting as a shoe store in 1901, how to best serve customers has been at the center of every decision for Nordstrom. The brand has grown to serve customers across 350 Nordstrom, Nordstrom Local and Nordstrom Rack locations.
Representatives and Iowa State alumni from the Nordstrom team will present looks during the runway show and speak to students about their career journeys throughout Q&A sessions. Partnering with such an influential company offers the opportunity to reach a new audience on campus and connect with the entire Iowa State population. Now that we have announced the guest company, committees are working to incorporate the Nordstrom brand image into other events and marketing for The Fashion Show.
We are thrilled to welcome Nordstrom to The Fashion Show 2024!

Hello FundISU donors!
The Fashion Show's 2024 Campaign officially closed this past Friday, and we are beyond thankful for all of the support that has been reflected through the campaign. With your help, we were able to raise $37,965 — beating the record by over $1,900 and exceeding our goal by almost 10%!! We will continue to post updates regarding the show and those involved in TFS here leading up to the show. For those receiving donor perks, keep an eye on your email within the coming weeks for more information on how to claim those! Once again, thank you from the entire TFS team — we hope to see you at The Fashion Show 2024!
Happy Last Day of The Fashion Show 2024 Fundraiser!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our project so far; we could not be this close to our goal without your help! With just over 24 hours left, we are SO very close to reaching our $35,000 goal. We have loved watching everyone get involved and excited about TFS; it's one of the many reasons we love this organization!
With our goal this year being the biggest we have ever set, we are filled with gratitude for all the donors helping us reach that number. Now, let's finish strong!
Hi FundISU donors!
Thank you again for all of your support for The Fashion Show 2024! We are so thrilled with how the campaign is going, and we now only have four days left to reach our goal of $35,000! We know everyone is anxious to get their tickets for the show, so we wanted to send out a little reminder. Pre-sale tickets go on sale March 4th, and the public ticket sale starts March 11th!
Donating $100 gives you access to pre-sale tickets, and you can choose your ideal seating for the show before the general public. This is one of our favorite incentives, as we want everyone who has supported our project to be able to claim their seats. Tickets can be purchased at the Iowa State Center Box Office or through Ticketmaster.
We cannot wait to see you there on April 20th!
Hello, FundISU Donors! Thank you so much for your support for The Fashion Show 2024!

We are delighted to share The Fashion Show 2024 theme: Midnight Bloom. In an elegant garden during the nighttime, our Art Directors crafted an elevated, modern approach to encapsulate a garden party aesthetic. This theme was developed through student creation and collaboration. The winning mood board this year was created by one of our Photography Committee Members, Delaney Deering. Inspired by the combined aesthetics of disco balls and dark garden colors, we hope to evoke feelings of a garden at midnight. Multiple director teams united to develop Midnight Bloom from its initial mood board concept into a focused vision that will be represented throughout all of The Fashion Show 2024’s materials and content. The TFS team is excited to embody this theme and create a production highlighting the organization's past and inspiring our next generation of talent.
Below is a glimpse into the theme created by our Art Directors, Audrey Borcherding, Dany Gutierrez, and Mia Wang!
Hello, FundISU Donors! We have 16 days left in our 2024 FundISU campaign and that means that today is Push Day! Today we’re launching a campaign at 7pm to raise $2,400 in the next 24 hours. Support from donors like you is the reason we are able to plan and produce one of the largest student-run fashion shows in the nation. FundISU donations account for one-third of our production costs.
With that being said, the $2,400 we have the goal of raising in the next 24 hours could help pay for the set, fund special events and assist with bringing our guest designer. This year, students are posting on social media to show why they love The Fashion Show and support the FundISU campaign!
Thank you for your continuous support! We are so grateful for everyone who supports The Fashion Show and the FundISU campaign. Thank you for all your support!
Hello FundISU donors! We wanted to express our gratitude for your continuous support of The Fashion Show. Last year, we surpassed our goal and raised $36,054, the most any FundISU campaign has ever raised! Thank you for your generous donations that help to make each show the best production possible.
January 24th was the launch of our 2024 campaign. The FundISU project through the Iowa State Foundation will be live for 30 days, ending on February 23rd at 7 PM CST. We are excited about the challenge of raising $35,000 in 30 days, setting our biggest goal to date!
Last week, our committee members set personal goals for the amount of points they want to reach during the campaign. They are each pushed to reach their goals with class incentives to contribute their part to TFS!
As we continue to plan and execute the many elements of The Fashion Show, please follow our social media platforms to see what all of our student leaders are accomplishing.
We appreciate every donation made to The Fashion Show, as every donation helps support the continual growth of our organization. To donate to the Friends of The Fashion Show through the FundISU page, please visit:
