Weight Club at Iowa State University is a sports club on campus that strives to push the physical and mental boundaries of the human body. We believe that every person is capable of greatness through hard work, determination, and discipline. Our club achieves this through providing 130+ members equipment in powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, Strongman, Bodybuilding, and overall fitness. Our members are motivated to push themselves further than the average gymgoer.
This project aims to improve accessibility for our members who compete at the higher level representing our organization. To do this, our goal is to reduce financial and locational barriers for our members by helping them with travel and qualification expenses. Specifically, we are working toward hosting a USAPL-sanctioned powerlifting event on campus to reduce the amount of travel for our members to compete in a national qualifying event. We want to remove unnecessary barriers that prevent our members from competing.
With altered governing university rules, it is imperative that we are pushing to compete at the national level to maintain our status as a recognized sports club on campus. Your donation will directly contribute to helping our members travel to the 2025 USAPL Collegiate National Competition as well as other members who may qualify for their own respective sports governing competitions. Additionally, funds will be used toward the purchase of new equipment required for us to host a USAPL-sanctioned meet. This increases accessibility for our members by decreasing travel and registration expenses which may be a barrier to them.
Thank you for your contribution! This could replace old cables or clips, safety matters!
Just about enough to sponsor an entry fee for competition, thank you!
Now we're talking, replace some equipment or register for a national competition, thank you!
GREATLY appreciated, this can replace an old piece of equipment or repair we could use done. Arnold would approve!
