Help the SAE Clean Snowmobile Team!
I would like to say first thank you for taking time out of your day to read this and learn a little bit about our team. We are the Iowa State Clean Snowmobile Challenge, and our goal is to make a snowmobile cleaner, quieter, and more fuel-efficient while still leaving the power within the snowmobile.
Our team in the past has taken this challenge and made changes that include adjusting our suspension, tuning our engine to run a lean burn tune engine, and building a new muffler. Our team this season is tackling this challenge by adding a turbo to a single-cylinder two-stroke engine. Most of the background information and research on this topic is extremely theoretical, so we are doing a lot of trial-and-error analysis. Our team this year is focused on implementing a turbo charger to our current snowmobile. This has been a very difficult task, and it will be the first time a turbo charger has been implemented on a single-cylinder two-stroke snowmobile. This innovation will excite the snowmobile community for the years to come.
This year, we are fundraising for our trip to our competition in Eagle River, Wisconsin. There, we will compete with other universities across North America. We are judged on acceleration, fuel mileage, technical knowledge, design, and many other factors that help decide who is the best.
We would like to thank you for taking some time to read our little note page about what we are and what we do. If you have any questions or want to learn more about what we do, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you and Go Cyclones!
