In the fall of 2017, more than 4,000 undergraduate students across the country submitted research abstracts to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research for a chance to present their work at the Conference. In January, forty-four students from Iowa State University were notified that our abstracts had been selected for presentation at NCUR 2018 at the University of Central Oklahoma in April! Selected presenters will not only present their research to students, faculty, and staff from universities and colleges all across the United States, but will also have the opportunity to attend special events and lectures, meet professionals in our fields, explore graduate school and career options through the Professional Preparation and Graduate School Fair, and more. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for undergraduate researchers, and ISU's presenters cannot wait for April 4th-7th, when we will head to Edmond, Oklahoma for this unforgettable experience.
We are honored to have received this offer to share ISU's wide variety of undergraduate research nationally. However, we will need help in order to make this experience possible for all of the students who were selected. Each student will have to pay approximately $500 in order to attend the conference. This cost includes travel, food, hotel, and registration expenses. We do not currently have the financial support we need to attend, but we hope to raise the necessary funds with your help! Please consider making a donation towards our conference expenses. We cannot thank you enough for your support, and we are looking forward to April's adventures at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research!
Supporters who give donations of $10 and up will receive a personal thank you letter.
For donors at the $50 level and above, we will email out a newsletter after the conference to give you an inside look at NCUR 2018!
Donors at the $100 level and up will receive an invitation to ISU's Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression. Each student presenting at NCUR will also be giving their talk or poster presentatios at the Symposium - you will get the chance to see the research you're supporting firsthand! Lunch with the student researchers will also be provided.
Contributors at the $300 level or above will be invited to a meet and greet with the students presenting at NCUR in April! The social will feature poster presentations from the conference and the opportunity to speak with student researchers about their work over light refreshments.
