Day 2 was a full one. We started out the morning listening to Dr. Linda Griffith of MIT. She gave an enlightening talk about the various streams of biological engineering and talked about her work with endometriosis diagnostics. Then we went into sessions. Most of us attended the Circular Food and Agricultural Systems, chaired by our own Dr. Rosentrater. Sam presented today during this session and did amazingly!!
We then went to Cali 'n Titos for lunch. Fish tacos, cubans, and quesadillas were a great choice and gave us needed fuel for the afternoon session.
The afternoon began with Dr. Bruno Basso's talk on grain bioeconomy and how to improve biodiversity in fields. We then went to afternoon sessions where we watched talks primarily focusing on engineering education and food safety.
Finally, Utah State invited a large group of us out to dinner. We went to Creature Comforts Brewing and Little Italy. We had a great time getting to know other students and comparing our experiences both at the conference and in general.
Tomorrow is the poster presentation, awards ceremony, as well as additional talks on smart engineering.
