The Iowa State University Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (ISU AMS) is excited to announce that we will be attending the 98th American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas in January of 2018! A total of 20 students will travel to the conference for a wide variety of opportunities and honors. The most exciting of these honors is that ISU AMS will be accepting our award for 2016-2017 Student Chapter of the Year! This is thanks to our amazing efforts in fundraising, outreach, and academic student support. In addition, ISU AMS students will have the chance to explore careers, attend tape swaps, build resumes, and practice interview skills at the student conference and present research, learn about cutting-edge research, and network with professionals and graduate schools at the full conference. Please support our cause and help the next generation of meteorologists thrive in the future! Check out some of our student bios to meet some of our conference attendees!
Update: WE MADE IT!
Thanks to all of our early donations, we have reached our goal of $3,000 to go towards students attending the 98th American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas. This is exciting news, but we still need your help! Now we can continue fundraising for other projects ISU AMS has in store for 2018. This includes funding our annual science fair, helping students go to the Central Iowa Chapter of the National Weather Associations Severe Storms an Doppler Radar Conference, and updating outreach supplies to help support our school visits across central Iowa. Please continue to pass the word on to help make 2018 an even better year for ISU AMS!
